Gelish mani’s are one of my most popular treatments. Most of my clients get about 3 to 4 weeks out of their Gelish. But a few struggle to keep them looking good for even 2 weeks.
There are many factors that can affect your Gelish, I have a few tricks and tips that can help you maintain a perfect Gelish mani.
1 – Make sure your nail technician properly cleans your nail plate and applies a primer. This is a really important step as even a spot of oil can cause your Gelish to peel.
2 – Apply a cuticle oil or cream and massage it into your cuticles every day. This will help prevent your Gelish from becoming brittle.
3 – Wear gloves whenever you wash dishes or use any harsh cleaning chemicals and water. And if you do any gardening.
4 – Do not file or cut your nails as it will break the seal and will make your Gelish chip or peel.
5 – Do not pick, scratch or nibble at your Gelish/nails.
If your Gelish does lift or peel within the first few days then it can either be your nail tech’s fault or it could be changes in your body due to medicines, supplements, hormones or illness. If the latter is the case, give your nails a few weeks rest before try again.
